The fourth annual Madi's Day of Hope event is set to raise funds in honor of Madison Moore's dream of giving back to sick children in need.  The 2024 Madi's Day of Hope event is scheduled for Saturday, June 8 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at Humphrey's Park in Linton. The event is seeking vendors and sponsors to contribute to a fun, family-friendly event for the community while working toward the goal of raising money for others.

The annual event is hosted by the Madi's Hope Foundation, an organization founded by Moore's mother, Tera Orman, shortly after Moore passed away in 2019. Moore was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2018. After overcoming her arduous battle with cancer, she fell ill to Graft vs Host disease as a result of a stem cell transplant and sadly passed away at only 17 years of age.

During her many months spent at Riley Children's Hospital, Moore received gifts that kept her entertained and helped her pass the time. This generosity from others always brought a smile to her face, even in the darkest of times. The teen expressed to her mother that one day she hoped to return the favor by helping other sick children smile. While Moore was not able to see her dream fulfilled before passing, Orman is determined to see it through.

"Helping other kids was Madi's heart," Orman said. "She said, 'Mom, one day I want to be on the other side of gift giving. I want to bring gifts to others and help them to smile and feel better, the same way they helped me.'"

To continue Moore's legacy, the fourth annual Madi's Day of Hope is seeking vendors, sponsors, and volunteers to make the June 8th event the biggest yet, while building on the foundation's ongoing dedication to helping others.

In the years since Moore's passing, the foundation has helped several local families with expenses as their young children battled illness. The foundation has also offered contributions to local families supporting parents who need financial assistance and granting scholarships to students at local schools. Orman said the goal will always be to help sick children and their families. Although Moore battles cancer, the foundation does not narrow their assistance to only those battling cancer.
